How we make money, and how that does (and doesn't) shape our recommendations
The short version
Some links on this site are referral or affiliate links. If you sign up or purchase through them, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you, and often with a signup bonus or perk for you too. You can always skip the referral code and go directly to the provider's own site instead.
How it works
When you click a link with a referral code or affiliate tag and complete a signup (opening a bank account, applying for a card, making a transfer, etc.), the provider or an affiliate network pays us a fee or commission. The amount varies by provider and can change over time.
Editorial independence
Whether we recommend something is based on how useful it actually is for someone moving to Australia, not on how much commission it pays. Many of the providers we list don't pay us anything, and we still recommend them because they're genuinely useful. See our Methodology page for how we verify and keep information current.
Referral codes vs. formal affiliate links
Right now, some links on this site are personal referral codes (like a bank or transfer service's "refer a friend" link) rather than links tracked through a formal affiliate network (such as Awin, CJ Affiliate, or Impact). Over time, some links may move to formal affiliate-network tracking instead — either way, the disclosure on this page applies.
No extra cost to you
Purchases or signups made through a referral or affiliate link cost the same as going directly to the provider's site — the commission is paid by the provider, not deducted from what you pay.
